More than 300 students and seniors of the municipality of Abanilla learn this week how to prevent fires and what to do in the event of one, during the Week of Fire Prevention organized by the Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region Murcia (CEIS), the Technical Association of Professional Firefighters (APTB) and Mapfre Foundation.
This event, which was presented today by the manager of the CEIS, Mariano Sánchez, along with representatives of the APTB and the Mapfre Foundation, is held every year in a municipality of the region and in this edition, takes place in Abanilla up November 27.
The goal is to move people, especially the young and old, through lectures and demonstrations, skills for fire prevention and tips on what to do if they occur.
Studies by the APTB and Mapfre reveal that the most vulnerable to fires group is that of people over 65 years and, since most house fires occur in homes and in winter, under the day has organized a talk aimed specifically at older people.
The other activities are aimed at school centers and Primary Education of the town.
Is expected to involve a total of 300 students from five schools.
Two of them from the town of Abanilla and the remaining three of the districts of Mahoya, Barinas and Macisvenda.
This Week Fire Prevention conclude with a party Prevention, in which firefighters CEIS will organize exhibitions and workshops, which will take place on Thursday, August 27, in the Garden of Paseo de la Ermita, Abanilla.
The Consortium for Fire Fighting and Rescue Region of Murcia (CEIS), majority owned by the Presidential and Employment Abanilla account with a fire station that serves emergencies in the municipalities of Abanilla, Fortuna, Santomera and Beniel.
