Ciudadanos has asked the regional government to clarify when it will close the Abanilla landfill "because if it is not closed in a short period of time it could produce a very important environmental problem in the region."
Miguel López-Morell, regional deputy for Citizens, said that since the orange training they have learned that the works are paralyzed for technical and budgetary reasons.
"It is striking that we have completed the closure works of the landfill in the area that is in the Valencian Community, and yet there is uncertainty to know when they will end in the Region of Murcia, since the pace of work is far from the expected. "
"We understand that the regional government can not continue looking the other way, and should take action on the matter as soon as possible to fulfill its commitment and close this dump," said Lopez-Morell, who added that Citizens has been three years insisting on the need to solve this problem that arises a criminal action of Pro Environment, and a neglect of functions of the regional administration, when controlling concessionaire companies.
